Today I will tell you about a park that struck me in Mallorca. It is located near the town of Ses Salinas, 53 km from Palma. From Palma you can get there by bus, but we went by car. The park is called Botanicactus. And it is home to cacti – giants!
The unusual cactus garden came into being through the efforts of Oswald Macario. He was very fond of these plants and one day decided to expand his collection. So that he could turn it into a real exhibition, where people who shared his passion for cacti could come. As a result, he collected more than 400 different cacti! All of them are now housed in an area of 150,000 square meters.

The first impression is as if you were in a fairy tale. The huge cacti look like giants. They are very versatile. Some are elongated upwards, some are bowed, forming bizarre patterns. And it’s all among the flowering aloes. January, blue skies, 18 degrees Celsius… Paradise!

Just like that, reflecting on the splendor of the climate, and photographing all this beauty, I went farther and farther away…

I never thought cacti could be so impressive! They are so different! These ones reminded me of chess pieces)
The cacti feel great here. The sunny climate of the Balearic Islands is perfect for them. There are cacti from different parts of the world: America, Africa, Asia, Australia… I read that the oldest cactus in the garden came from Arizona, and it’s 300 years old!

In the garden you can see other plants: olive, pomegranate and orange trees, almonds, jasmine, cypresses, different palms.
And there is also a beautiful lake with aquatic plants.
